As well as an extensive career in Software Engineering I have a few additional interests

Scuba Diving

I enjoy diving, and have Advanced Scuba, Deep Diver and Nitrox qualifications. I enjoy underwater photography although am far from an expert in it. Favourite encounters include Eagle Rays, Grey Reef Sharks, Dolphins, Blue Spotted Rays and Octopus. This is a picture I took of a turtle off the coast of Dahab (Egypt) in September 2025.

Table Tennis

I play table tennis to a reasonable standard, and have played in local leagues and for my county. I also enjoy coaching and have coached at club level as well as helping coach county juniors.

Music

I have a bit of a thing for live music, I enjoy gigs and festivals of all sorts. I've flown to Italy to see Radiohead, queued countless times for Glastonbury. I can't sum up the genius I have seen with one single picture, but here is Gary Numan at Beautiful Days. For me he was a highlight of that particular festival.

Physics

Jupiter and a few moons
I studied physics at university, along with astrophysics and astronomy. I haven't ventured much into the world of astrophotography yet, here is a first attempt at Jupiter and some of her moons. It is horrendously overexposed, but taken from my back garden. I hope to capture something better and perhaps play with interpolation of images when I get time.
